About Us

Why Do We Blog?

As people deeply involved in the 3D industry, we come across astounding new technologies and brilliant ideas every day. However, we feel that many of these with great potential get buried in some research lab or entrepreneur’s mind. We write this blog with two goals in mind:

  1. On the technology side, we want to let the bird out of the cage (or out of the lab, in most cases), and let people from the diverse sectors of the 3D industry hear about the breakthroughs that are taking place all around them.
  2. From the ideas side, we want ENLIGHTEN3D to be a giant brainstorm, a veritable tempest of minds, where we’re going to take new technology and reach as far outside the box as we possibly can. And then we want our community to push it even further with their comments and e-mails. The wilder the ideas, the more we want to hear about them!

About the Authors

Christian Laforte

I am the President of Feeling Software, a software development and consulting firm specialized in 3D graphics and computer vision. Prior to co-founding Feeling with my brother Guillaume, my career included ten years of software development including developing OpenGL drivers at AMD and working on the Maya 3D software for Autodesk. I am still a software engineer at heart, with passion and respect for 3D algorithms and applications and the people behind them. I am fortunate to be part of the Feeling team, a group of amazing software developers and a helpful and friendly support staff, along with world-class clients like Google, Adobe, Sony and Epic Games.

As Marketing Coordinator at Feeling Software, my days are spent scanning the internet and the market for new developments in the 3D landscape. With a university background in business and a passion for branding and marketing strategy, I will be focusing my writing on innovative ways that 3D technology is used in the marketplace, as well as generating ideas for where 3D’s cutting edge research and the end consumer might meet.
